Field And Corona Effects Solver

​FACE provides the tools to determine the field and corona effects of high voltage AC, DC, and AC/DC transmission lines.  Such effects include:

  • Corona loss

  • Audible noise

  • Radio interference

  • Magnetic and static electric fields

  • Ionized fields, ionized charges, and ionized currents

FACE calculates losses of electricity and energy with empirically proven formulas based on industry standards.  It uses a semi-analytical method to compute radio interferences, where a user-defined parameter generates functions that are available in literature.   A frequency domain model analysis technique is utilized to rigorously examine the effects of the transmission line geometrics.  The charge-free fields are calculated by the methods of successive images.  Ionized fields are computed by implementing an algorithm for non-linear two-point values for at ground DC cases, above ground DC cases, and hybrid cases.
